There seems to be a feeling in the air that Texas is turning a corner and taking a step in the direction of life as usual. That means hotels will be reopening, rental properties will be back in business, and fishing in Rockport will be booming again. We will have some catching up to do, because the ACTUAL fishing has been off the charts in the last two weeks. Big spring tides have flooded the bays with water, menhaden, and shrimp and the fish are cashing in. This combined with a total absence of fishing pressure has made for some teriffic action on the water. Wading with plastics and topwaters has been fantastic, and drifting with live shrimp or floating live finger mullet over grass and shell beds has been productive throughout the bay system. Croakers are only a couple weeks away, but the way the big trout are hitting artificials means there is no big hurry to get them. Get your reservations today, I have more open dates than I have EVER had in my career and it’s time to get out and catch some fish!

Not bad for your first wade ever, Dana!
