This week saw the unusually warm weather continue, and the fishing was really outstanding. Wednesday and Thursday we waded with plastics and found lots of hungry reds in the Rockport area. They enthusiastically ate corky fat boys and Double D’s in shin-to-thigh deep water over grass and mud. Saturday in Baffin, the drum ate dead shrimp on the deep rocks while some nice trout fell to Voodoo shrimp lures on popping corks over shallow sand. Back to Rockport on Sunday, where some great sight casting action with dead shrimp resulted in a lot of nice drum as well as a number of giant oversized reds. Looks like the great fishing will continue as the forecast is for this weather pattern to continue.
